Spending the summer in the Netherlands is a wonderful time for creativity to bloom and this editorial shoot is a perfect example! This past summer we put together a Dutch Masters editorial, inspired by the incredible art from this region of the world. The 17th century is known as the Golden Age in the Netherlands; a time in which their ships controled the oceans, and brought an incredible wealth to the young republic. The intricate, moody works of Dutch master painters like Rembrandt and Vermeer also gained infamy during this compelling period, and these works were the inspiration for our bridal shoot set in a historic castle in the Dutch countryside. Castle Oud-Poelgeest, a venue that traces its roots back all the way to the 1300’s, was the backdrop for our lady in waiting bridal editorial. We couldn’t help but immediately fall in love with the impressive murals spanning the walls, paired with an elegant fireplace and large Dutch windows.
