This home family photo session is so near and dear my heart, capturing a sweet friend’s family in the last few weeks in their beloved home, nestled in a quiet neighborhood right outside the bustling city of Washington DC. I also photographed this session just 4 months into my own journey of motherhood, which has made all the moments even more precious! In the midst of the sleepless nights and endless laundry, pausing to capture this beautiful family’s happiness was truly a gift. Remembering what it’s all about, and capturing the sweet, fleeting moments at home are the very reasons why I love photographing families. In some ways, family photography seems so different from photographing weddings; the big important days versus the everyday, but to me, it’s such a pure extension of love and life, and the next chapter of the story.
